Biography:

For his dedication to the legal profession and community outreach, James Hollier was honored with the inaugural Michelle Pitard Wynne Professionalism Award in 2001 by the Louisiana State Bar Association. Specializing in admiralty, general liability and worker’s compensation law, Mr. Hollier has successfully brought hundreds of cases to conclusion through settlement, dismissal and trial. His clients include a host of national insurance companies, oilfield service contractors, self insured employers and claims adjusting agencies.

Reaching out to young lawyers, Mr. Hollier has been an annual lecturer at the Louisiana State Bar Association’s Bridging the Gap seminar and for continuing legal education courses on professionalism. He is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association, the Lafayette Parish Bar Association, and the Louisiana Association of Defense Counsel. He is actively involved with the United Way of Acadiana, the Louisiana State Bar Associations’ Crystal Gavel and Public Information Committee, the Louisiana Bar Foundation, the John Duhe Inn of Court and the Louisiana Association of Self Insured Employers. He also has served on several local boards, including the Acaidana Safety Association, the Lafayette Volunteer Lawyer Program, the Lafayette Young Lawyers Association, the Lafayette Parish Bar Association, and the Lafayette Parish Chapter of Ducks Unlimited.
