Ben L. Mayeaux is one of Lafayette’s most experienced toxic tort, environmental contamination and complex litigation attorneys. In 20 years with Laborde & Neuner, Mr. Mayeaux has been involved in several highly specialized cases, with clients including international petrochemical companies, major national product manufacturers, and some of the region’s top oil and gas companies. Currently, represents defendants in some of the state’s most extensive class action lawsuits, including a train derailment and chemical spill, the Hurricane Katrina levee breach litigation, and a multi-district case involving formaldehyde issues in FEMA housing units. Mr. Mayeaux’s practice also includes insurance coverage defense.
Mr. Mayeaux is a distinguished member of several professional associations. He is the President of the Louisiana Association of Defense Counsel and a member of the Defense Research Institute, as well as Lafayette Volunteer Lawyers. Mr. Mayeaux teaches continuing legal education courses sponsored by the Louisiana Association of Defense Counsel and the Defense Research Institute. He has also been appointed to the LSBA Diversity Committee. Outside his environmental law practice, Mr. Mayeaux also is an active conservationist, serving as a committee member for both the Coastal Conservation Association and the Acadiana chapter of Ducks Unlimited.
